Glass Blowing Workshop
THE UNIT IN 2013
The ICIQ glass blowing workshop supports the Institute researchers in terms of design, fabrication and repairing of glassware, with the capability of working with borosilicate glass and quartz.
During 2013 the blower worked with quartz much more than before and acquired great expertize in vacuum systems.
MOST IMPORTANT EQUIPMENT
- Two blowing torches from Miéma.
- Oven from TecnoPiro.
- Two saws.
- A polisher.
- A lathe.
